Chef Sam Hazen
Veteran chef Sam Hazen recently partnered with LDV Hospitality to form Sam Hazen Management (SHM), a food and beverage consulting, management, and concept development company.
Experienced and well-traveled, Chef Hazen is a CIA graduate and later became an instructor at the nation’s leading culinary school. In his career, he has worked and managed some of the most iconic and successful restaurants in the world, including La Cote Basque, Marchesi, and Le Gavroche. Most notably, as Executive Chef of Tao for nine years, he oversaw the two highest grossing restaurants in the United States.
SHM currently oversees the front and back of house operations for Lugo Caffe, a trendy Italian brasserie, and Local West, a burger bar, in midtown Manhattan. In the near future, SHM will help open Lucy’s Cantina Royale, a Baja style cantina. Other plans call for SHM to bring Lugo Caffe to Seoul, Korea, and to launch a 300-seat American brasserie concept.
