My Grilled All American Avocado Pizza features fresh California avocado, smoked applewood bacon, juicy tomatoes, red onion and white cheddar cheese. It is deliciously All American and perfect for a 4th of July cookout!

2 mini pizza crusts, 6-inch size 2 tsp. olive oil 4 Tbsp. tomato sauce 1 1/2 cups shredded white cheddar cheese 1 fresh California avocado, medium size, seeded and peeled 3 slices thick cut smoked applewood bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled 1 plum tomato, sliced thinly crosswise As needed a few thin slices of red onion

1. Heat grill on medium. 2. Spread olive oil on pizza crusts, followed by tomato sauce. Sprinkle half the cheese over the crusts. 3. Divide avocado in half. Dice one half and layer onto pizzas, along with bacon, tomato and red onion. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. 4. Place pizzas on grill. Let grill until cheese is all melted and brown grill marks appear on underside of crusts, about 8 minutes. Remove from grill and slice. 5. Slice remaining avocado and place a piece on each pizza slice. Serve immediately.

*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.

Did You Know?

It’s a good idea to brush a little oil on the cut side of a California Avocado before grilling. They are also delicious in a host of other entrée recipes, from stove top to oven-baked to multi-cooker preparation.
