The classic piña colada goes green and extra creamy with Fresh California Avocado and frozen pineapple, with 75% less saturated fat than the traditional recipe shown below.

Ingredients

Serves: 2

1 1/2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
1/2 ripe, Fresh California Avocado, seeded, peeled and cubed
3 oz. white rum
2 oz. 40% less fat coconut cream, or more for a sweeter cocktail

As with all fruits and vegetables, wash avocados before cutting.
Check out our tips for how to choose and use California Avocados.

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Pour into tall beverage glasses and enjoy.

Variation: Substitute frozen pineapple juice (12 oz. for two servings) for the frozen pineapple.

Serving Suggestions: Top with whipped cream and a slice of avocado. Serve with straws if desired.

*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
