California Avocados, Now in Season!

It’s springtime, and that officially marks the beginning of the California Avocado season! I was recently out in an avocado grove in San Diego County and was very happy to see avocado harvesting in progress with many beautiful, ready-to-harvest avocados on the trees!

If you’ve been in a grocery store lately you may have noticed some California Avocados in the produce section. If you haven't seen them yet, the good news is that harvesting is increasing and distribution is building rapidly. In southern California I've seen several stores already in full supply.

The quality of this year’s crop is outstanding. California Avocados are cutting clean and tasting wonderful in salads, smoothies, sandwiches and of course guacamole.

We’re expecting a good supply of Hass Avocados from California this year, with availability through October. So next time you’re at the grocery store, look for California on the avocado label.

We’d love to see your California grown avocados. Share them with us on Twitter or Instagram, just mention or tag @CA_Avocados!
