June is California Avocado Month, when California Avocados are at peak availability and to celebrate, we’ve linked up with chefs across the country to showcase avocados from California in exclusive menu items and various in-restaurant promotions. 

California Avocado Month Chef Features

Chefs in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Diego, Seattle, Dallas, Los Angeles and more are all offering special California Avocado items on their menus for the month of June to celebrate the delicious fruit hitting the peak of its season.

Austin: Chef Kent Rathbun is offering a grilled chicken breast with California avocado-lemon yogurt sauce salad at Jasper’s.

Chicago: Chef Carol Wallack is offering a special featuring unagi atop sushi rice, drizzled with sweet soy-sake BBQ sauce, accompanied by California avocado and banana puree on the menu at Sola. Additionally, Chef Mitch Prensky has a wonderful chilled California avocado cucumber soup with pickled shrimp, grapefruit, huitlacoche, Aleppo on the menu at Supper.

New York City: Ivy Stark (@ivystark) of Dos Caminos, who joined us for our Season Opener chat on Facebook in April, will be featuring a California Avocado, Summer Fruit and Peekytoe Crab guacamole.

San Diego: Chef Trey Foshee of George's at the Cove shared these delicious-looking Fish tacos with Fried California Avocado on Instagram. He has swapped in California Avocados across the entire Ocean Terrace Menu at his restaurant:

Seattle: Chef Eric Tanaka (@etgigantor) of TanakaSan will have a special Brown Rice Bowl with California Avocado Hollandaise, Pea shoots, Shaved Radish and Soy Beans.

Portland: Chef Lisa Schroeder of Mother’s Bistro (@MothersBistro) will be featuring her popular California Avocado, Bacon and Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese on her menu. “I look forward to California avocado season every year because they add so much flavor, texture and excitement to my menu,” says Lisa.

Lisa also has developed two new avocado recipes that anyone can make at home.
