California Avocado Mural Comes To Life in San Francisco

Living in California, we have a lot to be thankful for – from the coastal breezes and gentle sun to our favorite fruit, the California Avocado. To show our appreciation of the Golden State, we partnered with John Van Hamersveld, a renowned artist, to help us come up with a way to effectively do just that.

The result? An eye-catching mural in San Francisco.

Van Hamersveld was inspired by California, having lived in the state for most of his life. At 19, he attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and the years that followed are marked with iconic successes. These successes include everything from designing “The Endless Summer” film poster to creating a concert poster for Jimi Hendrix. Have you walked by the surf-inspired mural in Hermosa Beach? That was John Van Hamersveld’s brainchild, too.

Our California Avocado mural is the latest on his list of accolades. It lives at 1052 Folsom St. in San Francisco and highlights two California icons – the Golden Gate Bridge and our favorite green fruit.
