Avocados are an ideal all-American ingredient for any July 4th menu, and truly add something special to any occasion. “I make no secret of my affection for California avocados,” says Susan. “With the fruit being at its peak availability through the summer, they are a perfect ingredient to include in any summertime picnic or party menu.”

“California Avocados are great as a cool creamy sauce with spicy barbeque, and they add great texture to salads, sandwiches and pasta dishes,” said May Sue. “We’ve created some delicious new recipes that showcase how versatile this fruit can be.”

This year, Mary Sue and Susan created two recipes: a California Avocado and Tomato Salad with Crispy Crumbs and Bacon Vinaigrette that wows with a spectacular presentation, and a great 4th of July BBQ recipe, Oven Barbequed Ancho Chicken with Cabbage, Grapefruit and California Avocado Salad, impeccable for any summer party.
